I have led a privileged life and I feel very lucky. I have meaningful work, superb children, wonderful friendships and good health. I have traveled to amazingly exotic places, like Nepal and India, and I have had lovely simple holidays at a cottage in the Kwarthas. I was late in passing life's regular milestones. I married at 32, started university that same year, and had children after 5 years of school. It took me a while to figured myself out but when I did things fell into place. I try not to take things at face value and I look for the things unsaid, especially in the media. Our world is strange and confusing and it's hard to make sense of it. Through my work I have learnt that life can be rich but surprisingly short so I try not waste feelings and emotions on things that don't really matter. At times I am confident and comfortable with myself but I can go the other way too. I laugh as often as possible, when appropriate. (sometimes I laugh at inappropriate times and that's embarrassing) |
